The gallery’s guided tours with museum experts are only available at certain time slots, making it difficult for visitors to discover the artwork on their own schedule and get the most out of their visit.

Create an app that helps visitors experience the collection and learn about the art with multiple curated tours that feature both reading and audio components, maps and the ability to plan your own visit.

User research summary:
We conducted qualitative user research to identify insights and pain points.
We assumed that providing people with lots of options and ways to build custom guides to plan their time would enhance their experience and while several users appreciated the tailored approach, many users felt that having preset tours of the gallery’s highlights was a great way for them to see the collection on a tight schedule without feeling like they missed out or felt rushed.

Timing:
Lack or available guided tours for the time the visitors are at the gallery. The app will provide a variety of virtual guided tours to fulfill this need.

Visitors to the gallery can only learn about the art by reading the descriptions plaques or listening to the live guide, making this a poor experience for non-English speakers. The app will allow for multiple language options and multimedia content to enhance the experience.

Because many visitors are art lovers or educators, they have no way to save the artworks for future reference without taking photos in the gallery. The app will provide a way to save notable artworks to the users profiles for later reference.
